Heartsaver®

Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. Upon successful completion of the Heartsaver course offerings, students receive a certification card that is valid for 2 years.

There are three different courses to choose from and two different ways to attend or complete each course option.

In-Person Course – The instructor led courses takes approximately 3-4 hours to complete and requires adequate space for training to take place. The amount of space needed is dependent on the overall size of the class. The in-person course offerings have a minimum billing requirement of 10 students.

Hybrid Course – The blended learning courses consist of two components, which allows for a slightly more flexible approach as compared to the instructor led courses. This option is ideal for those who find it difficult to commit to the 3 – 4 hours required for the in-person course offering, or for smaller groups who do not meet the minimum class size requirement. The first component consists of an online educational course which can be completed at the student’s own pace and convivence. Following completion of the online learning component, students will then be scheduled for an in-person skill verification session, which takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
